Works for Long 10 AWG Generator Cords
I have a few of these for storing 10 gauge extension cords for my generator. Two 10/3 120v 5-15 cords, a 10/3 120v 5-20 cord, and a 10/4 240v L14-30 cord.### Capacity:When wrapped neatly, this reel will fit 100ft of 10/3 cord with very little room to spare. The longest 10/4 cord I have is 75ft, and the reel fits that with some room to spare, so 100ft of 10/4 *might* fit. Also worth noting that the 120v 5-15 and 5-20 ends on my cords *barely* squeeze through the hole that goes through the barrel of the reel into the center, but the 240v L14-30 ends definitely won't fit through that hole. So to wrap that one, I had to use the notch in the rim of the reel to start spooling it.### Build quality:This is why this gets 4/5.- Like some other reviews mentioned, the reel has some runout (it wobbles). Of the four I have, one is pretty bad (lots of wobble), two are so-so, and one is fine (very little wobble). So it seems to be a QC issue. The brake can be dialed to the desired amount of friction only if you get one without much runout, but works fine to lock the reel for storage either way.- The welds on these look pretty rough, but functional.- The feet and handle slide onto the tubes and can rotate or slide off without much force. I fully expect to lose a foot or something over the years.- Somehow, every one I got had scratches and scuffs in the paint on the tube frame. The boxes were in good shape, so they must have been mishandled during assembly or something. I'll probably have to touch them up to prevent them from rusting.- The handle on the rim of the reel doesn't rotate, it's just a fixed knob of smooth plastic. It's fine, but it'd be nicer if it was allowed to rotate in the hand as you turn the reel.- The hole to the center and the notch in the rim where you might pass a cord through aren't sharp, but they could use a rubber grommet or something. I'd expect the cord's jacket to get chewed up over time if it gets spooled on and off the reel often.Other that that, they seem suitable for storing heavy (but rarely used) cords like mine, and make the occasional use of cords this heavy much nicer than trying to coil them on your forearm or whatever. However, if you're constantly doing setup/teardown with these, the flaws will probably be more annoying to you.

Great Reel!
The reel is sturdy, has a screw down reel stop to keep it from spinning. I’ve got a 200ft Cat6a Tactical snake on it and I’ve got a lot of room. What I do wish it featured was a way to hold the ends from both sides while it’s being stored or transported. Overall, I’d certainly buy another one.

FOR AUDIO GUYS: This is the best on Amazon I've found for snakes.
I got these probably for the exact reason you need it: Ethernet cables for FOH snake runs. I searched high and low on Amazon and this was the best I could find. They actually are metal, and they have a good screw and tight LOCK on the side that prevents the wheel from turning during transit, which works really well. I have two of these, and honestly, for the money, I dont have a single complaint. I have one that has a 200 foot ethernet cable with ethercon on it and another one that has 150 foot ethernet, both of which fit just fine with plenty of room to spare. You could probably fit a 300 foot ethernet cable on here with no problem. It's not gonna be the BEST solution in the world, but its gonna do it exactly what you need it to and at a reasonable price.

Great reel!
I'm not sure why we didn't think of buying one of these sooner. It's very sturdy and holds 100 ft. of cord. It rolls easily and makes storing our extension cord compact.

All metal, but with drawbacks
I was hoping that with a 12" drum you'd be able to fit a substantial amount of cable on here, but our 90m ethercon takes up 90% of the space on it. The inner diameter of the drum is laughable, maybe 9" at best, tell me how you're supposed to fit 200m of anything on this reel without it being sewing thread.I bought two of these and they both have the same issues. The center of gravity is way off, it tips over constantly, especially when there isn't much weight on the drum. The knob is not free-spinning and will unscrew itself when you're reeling in a cable. Either the drum itself is out of round, or the axle is bent, making the drum wobble and catch on the rubber friction brake unless it's screwed all the way out. The bolt holding the drum to the frame backed out entirely, I had to reinstall it with loctite and hope it doesn't come out again. Whatever bearing setup they use doesn't allow you to fully tighten this bolt, so it has to remain loose in order for the drum to spin freely. All in all, you won't find a reel this size for less, but at least know that you're getting the best that china has to offer for bottom-dollar engineering.

horrible build quality
The wheel has a fair amount of runout, which mostly looks unsightly when winding up cable but also means the brake engages off and on as the wheel turns. The rubber feet have cuts in them, it looks like they were pushed too far onto the tubing which is punching through the rubber (on day 1). The back side of the frame has some heavy grind marks, almost looks like someone tried to grind off a markers mark by gouging it with an angle grinder. The think stinks of cheap rubber. The handle fell off the spool the first time I was winding on my cable. Overall, this thing will work for sporadic use, but is other wise an overprices piece of junk.

Almost perfect
I bought one to hold 300-feet of RG-6 SDI video cable. It fit fine, but any more would start to be too much. The little clips on the outside work great for holding 6-feet of cable coming from the inside (allowing 100-feet of cable to be used with another 200-feet remaining on the reel), while keeping the cable out of the way when winding the other end onto the outside of the reel. Only one complaint -- the handle for turning the reel doesn't freely spin. If you wind the cable in the "right" direction, the handle tightens and your fingers need to slip on the outside of the handle. Start the cable to wind in the wrong direction, and the handle falls off after 4-5 turns of the reel. It's all steel, and very robust, but not light. Probably the only solution on Amazon that will work with 300-feet of RG-6 SDI cable and provide adequate protection.
