Gets the job done for less
Thought these types of tools were more for long-haired dogs, but got one to try with one of our basset hounds who sheds a lot and it seems to work great. Seems like I could brush her forever and more keeps coming out! As for the product, the handle seems reasonably well-made (certainly sturdy enough for our purposes) and the blades seem uniform and sharp. Our dogs have had no problems with us using it on them. From a price perspective, no comparison with other brands. Admittedly, I've never used another similar deshedder, but after using this and seeing how well it works, I can't see why anyone would pay so much more for another brand.

Does a good job
The black knob on the end of our handle came off the first time we used it but a little glue and it hasn't come off again. With three dogs in the house this tool comes in handy. The brush does not pull the fur and the dogs actually like being brushed with it.Having the blade being able to detach is a nice feature to allow cleaning. The handle is soft and allows for a good grip on the brush while brushing he dogs.

Doesn't really work for my short-haired basenji/lab mix
Quality materials and arrived quickly. Doesn't really pick up that much hair from my dog's short coat (a basenji/lab mix). The claim of 90% less shedding is totally inaccurate for me. Maybe the teeth on the comb need to be closer together to catch the shorter hair, but I haven't been able to find a product like that. My house is full of hair despite brushing my dog everyday. It is partially due to her scratching a lot (anxiety from being adopted 2 weeks ago), but I hoped that using this product would help remove the hairs that would otherwise be shed with the scratching. The positive is that this tool is narrower than the standard 4" width of competitors. Plus, my dog really likes to be brushed (it doesn't hurt or annoy her), so she will sit and let me do it as long as I want.

nice company that upheld their guarantee and made return easy ...
this is just a comb with slightly sharpened edges. my cats are short haired and one is a thick russian blue... all three were miserable and wouldnt let us use this brush. i was very excited about the hype but had to return it after trying it a few times. nice company that upheld their guarantee and made return easy so I don't see what the risk is in trying it for yourself but I wouldn't recommend it personally

So happy I bought it :)
I have 2 gsds, a beagle mix, and long haired cat. Its a constant hair battle with just the shepherds. I use to use a rake and 2 other brushes and the hair would still poof all over every time you pet them. When they leaned on you, you were covered with hair. With this tool, I no longer have daily monster dust bunnies so I can vacuum less. Their coats are much softer, smoother, and shiny. I no longer use the rake or other brushes, just the deshedding tool. The one gsd had some issues when she came to us and was difficult to brush. The FurBuddy is the only thing I can completely brush her with. Even the cat is slowly getting use to the brush and we have never been able to brush her very well - always takes 2 people and long sleeves. Best thing I ever bought.

Better than most
I have a lab newfoundland mix so he has some short hair and then some very long hair all the way down his back. This comb works on both lengths and cuts down on the shedding. I don't know if there is really anything that would do any better as I have tried a half dozen different brushes and this one seems to do better than the others. The cleaning strip doesn't work too well and I end up using my fingers to get the hair out of it.
