Hummingbirds love the color red. I, however, do not, which explains why it’s taken me so long to get a feeder for the backyard. The typical red designs look tacky to me, so I wanted something I found visually appealing. When I stumbled upon Muse’s unique feeders, I knew I had to get one!This beautiful blue feeder is a great addition to our backyard. It’s heavy, durable, and the amount of red is tolerable; a win for everyone! It’s a little late in the season, but I’m hoping to have some migrating visitors before the end of fall. I’ll have to return with an update if it happens…and if I remember to.Hanging tip for those not wanting a shepherd’s hook or without a good hanging branch: We screwed a VersaHook from Home Depot into the vinyl soffit (directly into the wooden rafter overhang) of our detached garage. It took some trial and error to find the wood, but caulk was an easy fix to patch up the other holes in the soffit.Update 09/06/2023: Just saw a hummingbird drink from the feeder for the first time!

The media could not be loaded.  I've been feeding hummingbirds since I was a child of about 10. I'm 41, now, & I still love to watch them buzz around. They usually let me know when they get back in the springtime by flying up to my face when I step outside. I've also had them fly up to the window next to where I sit at the kitchen table when the feeders need a refill. Anyway, my feeders from last summer were looking pretty faded & we were having a party for the 4th of July, so I decided to get some new ones.These feeders jumped out at me because they are my favorite colors. I ordered both the Ocean Mermaid & the Purple Mermaid colors. They are easy to assemble & I like that they came with some really nice "S" hooks. The little ant moats are also nice. I've only had them up for a couple of days but the moats seem to be working. I'm a little worried that metal parts of the base will deteriorate quickly as I've had that experience in the past with some of the more decorative feeders. Also, the glass has a hole at the top for slipping the hook through, which makes it impossible to set the bottle down while I pour the sugar water. I like to set the two feeders side by side while I fill them, so I can make sure they are even. With these, I have to hold the glass while I pour, so I can only do one at a time. I tend to prefer the more basic feeders because of those reasons but I couldn't pass up those colors, especially with the "mermaid" names.I put the new feeders up on Saturday morning, which was the day of our party. With all the preparations, I didn't have much time to observe how the hummers responded, other than to make sure I saw at least one at each feeder. The next day, however, I was able to really sit & watch them. Oh my goodness! I'd say activity around my feeders has exploded with these new feeders. I was previously seeing what I think was a pair (1 male & 1 female) at each feeder, so four birds total. Now, I have one male who has claimed the purple feeder for himself & his mate. He won't allow anyone else to feed at that one. He sits on the hook & guards it constantly. Meanwhile, there's a feeding frenzy at the blue feeder. I've seen 4 at a time sitting at the blue one while another perches on a nearby hook, waiting & several more hover about. These feeders are in exactly the same location as my previous ones. I don't know for sure what it is about the new feeders that they are so attracted to but my guess is the colors. So, overall, I'm very pleased that they make my birds so happy.

Mine was beautiful, did not leak, very sturdy and thick, don’t need to be very gentle with it… well, three months later and the red flowers are cracking, rusting, and falling apart. So sad cuz I loved everything about this one. NO LEAKS! Seeing if I can just replace the cover/ flower part…

Very beautiful, great quality, and durable. The best part I found, is that it's much easier to fill than others I've purchased elsewhere.
