Good product
I put this in ny bike to give a cafe racer look and it does look good. However when applying this i wet it first but I must say “wear gloves”!!!” For about an hour my hands hurt due to tiny fibres being stuck in them and between my fingers

Keeping the heat off
Bought this for my ride-on mower stack exhaust to prevent burns. I read the reviews and as they say it is a good idea to wear latex gloves and preferably old sleeved garment to prevent itching later. Product looks exactly as photo and despite its 2.0mm thickness it is very flexible and can be manipulated around contours easily. To start the winding I used a dab of superglue as a temporary hold to give something to tension against and the same at the last winding. After completing and checking i used the stainless steel ties provided as the permanent fixing. The ties require no more than some pliers to pull tight although for extra closeness I used the tip of a screwdriver against the lock to pull against then just break off the surplus, there are quite a few ties in the set. The appearance is very swish giving a cafe racer style look (not so much for a lawn mower) and can cover discoloured or rusty pipes. After an initial 'smoking in' after start up the smoke cleared and the tape remains with the same finish. The temperature drop is considerable and also the noise has dropped too. Good product, well presented and very easy to use.

Wear gloves when using this
I have used this to wrap the exhaust of a diesel heater. It's not been switched on yet so I don't know if it works or not but I can say it has fiberglass in it, and I wish it had a warning because it got into the skin of my hands and arms before I realised. Use good gloves when using this stuff! Easy enough to apply and plenty of steel zip ties although I don't think they will last long as they're not stainless.

Very good product, looks brilliant once applied.
Brilliant product! Bought to cover an older chrome motorcycle header pipe and genuinely really looks amazing, was far better than expected.I applied by trimming the end nice and square, starting at the silencer end working forwards I wrapped it one full turn at right angles to the exhaust to silencer flange, applied a temporary tie wrap to hold things still and worked forwards up the pipe keeping the whole tape as taught as I could - overlapping by about half of the tape (its plenty wide enough), every now and then i grabbed hold of a short area I had wrapped and tightened further by gripping the wrapped pipe and twisting with GLOVED HANDS to ensure that the tape was really tightly bound to the pipe. Once I reached the O2 sensor I applied two 2 inch strips to either side and continued wrapping in the same spiral pattern over the two strips - in this way as you go either side of the sensor there is no chrome/pipe still showing (as it'd look like a small cats eye otherwise around the sensor). Once the cylinder head was reached I did one full parallel twist and placed another temporary tie wrap. I worked again along the whole pipe gripping and twisting the wrap to further tighten. Once I was happy, I applied some stainless steel neat little jublee clips with the screw facing to the rear out of sight. Finished job looks awesome (to me at least). The tape is plenty wide enough and can easily be applied around the corners of a curving exhaust, it tightens very will without wasting at the edges with no fraying at all during installation.I would definitely recommend wearing gloves as the fibres can be quite irritating to the skin, and chuck the gloves once done.

This product is excellent - but wear full, protective gear!
Warning! This product is excellent - but wear protective gear! This should include a suitable MASK, especially if you are repeatedly feeding it through/around pipework. The engine bay and my clothes were covered in a dusting of short-strands of fibre-glass. So where gloves, overalls and a mask. You won't notice the strands in the air unless you're working by torch light or similar. I'd recommend fitting outdoors on a breezy day. All this applies more so if you're removing old tape first! It's a perfect length for a exhaust on small, 4 cylinder engine (e.g. MX-5 Mk1), but is a very awkard shape. I split the 10m length in half and wound from engine to first manifold joint, then continuously back up the second pipe. That way, it only needed a strap by the engine on each pipe, 4 in total. The product is quite flexible and can be made to follow contours quite well. It does indeed smoke quite a lot on first run, but does retain a similar look (not that it's seen in an engine bay much). The product seems somewhat 'set' after that. The stainless steel ties are awkward to tighten well, but only really need to hold the loose ends in place. Use a flat screwdriver as a lever between pliers (gripping the band) and latch of the tie.Oh, and wash your clothes separately! And rinse the mask carefully! That stuff gets everywhere!

Works great - wear gloves!
I used this with a diesel heater that I installed in the garage to protect the exhaust as it exits the building. No wait... to protect me from the exhaust as it exits the building...Does it work? Yes - it's great - the exhaust read in excess of 300 degrees centigrade before the bandage, and around 90C after it was wrapped. Still toasty but not life-threatening...Fitting it was kind of fiddly and I ignored all of the other reviews that said wear gloves. They were right and I was wrong! I had horrible itching and was pulling tiny strands of fibre glass out of my fingers for hours afterwards. I've no idea exactly what gloves would protect you - chainmail? - but definitely wear gloves.Works well and cheap, so recommended.

Decent but not brilliant
Ok product, but for 10 meters of wrap got barely any zip ties, about 5...!! Also If your going fit this product yourself where gloves got so many splinters. When wrap was finish my exhaust was smoking like mad, my bike was like a steam train going down road, I guess it's ok for the price and how much you get, but there is better out there.
