Excellent system with one noticeable deficiency
To those of you read this review you may no doubt find my title contradictory so let me get that out of the way first. The deficiency in question is the remote which is disappointingly not a full function remote by any means. When I saw the size of it (smaller than a credit card) I said "This can't be" but it is. I called Boytone customer service to verify if they sent me the correct remote and the representative said yes that is the correct item for this system. .I am surprised nobody commented on this in their reviews. The remote only controls the CD player and USB (have not yet used the USB) with the usual functions - forward track, backward track, FF, pause, stop and mute (the red button). Note that the mute only works with CD and not the other functions - how odd! So with the exception of the CD the unit is entirely manually operated. There is no on/off button or volume controls either and the mode button was not operable so I was told. So this is something to be aware of - may bother some more than others. I personally do not like getting off my a** every time a function needs changing. The lettering below the dials and buttons on the front of the unit are initially hard to read because of the color of the plate they are are on but it should not be hard to memorize what is what - the dial on the left is for choosing the functions and the dial on the right is the on/off and volume. The buttons in between the dials duplicate those on the remote. As to the looks and performance of the unit it is absolutely beautiful and the sound to my ears is excellent with a wide volume range and sounds full and rich. The sound level should suffice nicely in a small to medium sized dwelling. However If you want more power there are outputs in back to add external speakers. I will now detail each function below that I have tried.Radio - Both AM and FM stations are picked up perfectly without unraveling the now ubiquitous wire antenna. Of course reception may be different in the building or environment where one lives (and listens).CD - The CD setup is the familiar sliding tray with a collapsing door in front. So far it is functioning fine but I will pay special attention to this as my pervious all-in-one had the same CD setup and stopped working within a year. I will keep my fingers crossed with this as I plan on using the CD player frequently.Record player - The records I played so far sound great. Use the lever to guide the tonearm onto the record; this males things easier. The player comes with a 45 adapter and the purchase came with an extra stylus - note that these are the usual ceramic ones. I will eventually look into replacing them with diamond-tipped but for now this works. I did not have the problem that another reviewer had with the tonearm skipping and having to weigh down with pennies - mine works flawlessly. Please note that the RPM selector and the auto selector switches are very small and hard to read. Look at the manual to familiarize yourself with the record player in particular and the unit in general although I have seen better, more comprehensive manuals on other units I have purchased.Bluetooth - This works perfectly and setup was quick and easy. That said you must set the selcetor dial to CD and then sync your device to the Boytone. There is no Bluetooth selection button in front of the unit.I have not yet tried the cassette player or the USB so I cannot comment on those features. Interesting to see that the USB port is on the right side of the unit next to the cassette player and not in front as in similar units. So to sum up, the Boytone BT-25 MB sounds works great (so far) for an item in this price range. If the remote was at least more comprehensive I would have given a five-star review - otherwise I am happy (so far) with my purchase and will live with this hopefully for a reasonably long time. If you don't mind the minimal remote then you should be pleased with this item as well.

Excellent sound and incredible look for the price
I'm extremely happy with the look and sound quality of this unit. The speakers get plenty loud for my living room, and sound comes through clear. The construction is light, but it's built from real wood. I was able to carry it easily with one hand. The tape player is solid and sounds very good. I was able to play 40 year old cassettes with no problem. The radio is easy to tune and has excellent clarity. I also played 2 CDs on it with no problems. The needle on the record player skipped frequently, even on brand new records. I taped a penny to the end of the arm and it skipped less. Adding a second penny fixed the issue completely. I'll remove the tape and use super glue later. I'm still giving 5 stars because of the low price point and easy fix. If it was a $200 or $300 dollar player I'd be disappointed. The shelf it's on is 14 x 29 inches and it sits very stable and level. It doesn't shift accidentally.Because of the shapes of the speaker covers and face of the player I would expect it to be difficult to clean any dust that is allowed to accumulate. I would say plan to dust the surfaces and vacuum the speaker faces and turntable area at least weekly. In all I call this system an excellent value for the money. I use my sound systems for a couple hours every day, so if it holds up for 2 to 3 years I will be very happy.

Not what I expected.
I was expecting to get the player with the recording device in it...this one does not record but it has the instructions included with it showing how to do the recording...feel taken advantage of.

A great all-in-one for one's music preferences.
Have not yet found any dislikes. Have not yet used LP, cassette and Blue Tooth features, however, do not expect any problems. as the rest work beautifully. Great retro wood case.too. LOVE IT.
