Modernhome Deluxe Electric Salt & Pepper Mill Set, Black/White

After years of using my hands, I developed mild arthritis lately which makes me double-think all the products that I use. One of them was my old s & p grinder set - I just couldn't properly grip and rotate the grinder, and it also required me to put more umph into the twisting motion than I truly have.Bring in the Modernhome Deluxe Set - These are a dream come true, as all I need to do is turn the grinder upside down and voila - the motor inside grinds the ingredients effortlessly. There's NO buttons - they're both activated just by flipping them over! The smell of fresh pepper / sea salt is always welcome but now I can enjoy this without any difficult twisting and turning. I've received multiple compliments on them already from my friends, as they're made out of glass and stainless steel. You can rotate the dial for different coarseness and I suppose one can use these for any herbs / ingredients they want. Good product overall and they have made my time in the kitchen much easier and for that, I'm thankful.

A little big so you definitely need to make sure you get a good grip on these! A big plus is that the battery compartment and the spice compartment are separate so you don't have to completely disassemble to replace batteries or refill with salt and pepper. Grinder motor is a little slow so it takes a moment to run but does a nice job of grinding. Coarseness setting stays where I set it and I don't need to keep re-adjusting. Good product!

Reasonably price, good delivery, seems to work well, although the salt grinder has jammed up a couple times. It was easy enough to clear. I would have been tempted to give five stars if it weren't for the fact that I had to take out a 2nd mortgage to pay for the batteries to power these machines!! Still, since they were a gift for a pepper-loving Friend, I would buy them again.

Pros: Large capacity. Easy to fill.Cons: Motor not strong enough. Very slow at grinding. Course/fine setting is flimsyWith brand new alkaline batteries the pepper mill can barely manage to grind pepper, and when it does it sounds like its struggling and does so very slowly. Several times the pepper mill refused to grind and appeared dead merely because a peppercorn was in the grind mechanism and the unit was not strong enough to crack it. Every time I use them I cant help but think a manual grinder is 10 times better.I have an old worn out auto grinder of a different brand that is much better at grinding. I do not recommend these units.

I liked the large container that holds the salt and pepper. I liked that it was a sturdy glass container. The idea of being able to simply turn the grinder upside down to activate it is great if it worked. Unfortunately it gets jammed every time. I even pre-ground my salt and pepper with my push button grinder in hopes that the smaller particles would not jam it but it still jammed after 5 seconds. The motor seems not strong enough to grind even the finest salt and pepper. A waste of my money!

After nearly 2 months of purchase and hardly used, the pepper shaker stopped working. I cleaned the grinder and replace the batteries twice to no avail. Hoping that Amazon will replace it and maybe give it a better rating.

You turn them over, and the salt/pepper starts coming out. automatically...I like ones that you press a button to control the amount of salt/pepper coming out...I returned these for one without the automatic distribution of salt/pepper.

Received as a Christmas present and they quickly became a favorite at the table and in the kitchen. Very pleased with the performance, ease of use and convenience. Unfortunately after 3 weeks the salt mill suffered a mechanical malfunction during use. The excellent response by the manufacturer (Skyline International Inc.) and quick receipt of a replacement led to my 5 Star rating. A quick phone call, followed by a couple of e-mails, and the problem was solved. Professional customer service is just as important as the product itself. Thank you Maya.
